If you've been wondering what I've been doing for the last couple of weeks I've been dancing in a dinosaur costume around the UK and Germany with my friend's band - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. We were supporting an amazing band called Darwin Deez, who not only had fly moves but also had totally amazing tour jackets.

The Tour Jacket Co. - a one man outfit (occasionally helped by his nan), is run by Ben Wood. He has unbelievable embroidery skills which I am seriously jealous of.

Happy New Year and ting. Apologies for my lack of blogging - I'm not as good at it as I used to be. Deep in thought!

So, a few things to report. The winter onesies I made for Youth Club will be available to buy online in the next week. We've still got a couple of months of cold weather to go so they'll still come in handy!

In terms of new stuff for Spring/Summer - I'm working on getting a vast collection completed using and taking inspiration from the African fabric I've been briefly flirting with. I've been doing a lot more research into it and it's not only interesting to look at but has a load of political/cultural ideas that I'm going to incorporate into it's presentation.

One book I've been looking at is 'Maske' by Phyllis Galembo. Which has a wealth of amazing onesies to look at!

However. I won't be releasing this new collection on this label. Instead, it will be on my other label, Bombe Surprise. Reasons for this are purely for the fact that I don't want to be restricted as to what I can design with this collection. Which is why I started Bombe Surprise in the first place. I want to make hats and bras and shirts! But don't worry - there will definitely be a good few onesies in there and they will be available to buy on the we are all in one shop, too.

This may sound incredibly blasphemous but I've been dabbling in the world of...separates.

My ideas have been running away with me over the last couple of months and in order to contain them I've launched another label, Bombe Surprise.

This label will allow me to be a bit more versitile and eccentric with my designs. Expect patterns, accessories, underwear, leggings...all over the place!

Not to worry though, I haven't given up (or stopped loving) the one piece. We Are All In One shall continue as normal. Next stop - long johns!

OK so I don't know if I've already divulged this but I have a serious phobia of velvet.

Weird, I know, but the very thought of it makes my hands and feet sweat/tingle and prolonged looking/thinking about it's soft, bristly surface turns that into a horribly uncomfortable sickening ache.

So imagine my dispair when I found this wonderful onesie by Bodkin.

and these well-known boots from Opening Ceremony.

That (teamed with the fact that velvet is like SO totally in this season) means that I'm going to have to make a serious bid to overcome my phobia. So far I've managed to settle my score with Corduroy (which has similar velvet qualities)...maybe my next challenge will be velour and then hopefully I'll be sewing everything out of velvet!

Or maybe I'll just have to start sewing with a pair of Marigolds on...

Spring is here and the sun is out and I only have to wear ONE layer on my way to my studio in the mornings...

This means time for new designs, new fabrics and new PRINTS.

I've started to screen print my own fabric and I'm going big and bold with a series of brightly coloured leopard prints.

Musical onesies.

I've had a few commissions from bands/singers to make them all in ones for their performances etc...one of them being Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. I'm performing with him at the Roundhouse tonight as part of a thing called Black Box - which is a series of musical performances going on this month that are broadcast live over the internet.

I am designated costume maker for T.E.E.D so I was up till 2am last night stuffing KPOC into dinosaur tails and making new dino all in ones for the band and his dancers (one of them being me).

I don't know if you've heard about showstudio or not (you probably have if you're in Faaasshhhhaaannnn)...but in a nutshell, Nick Knight the famous fashion photographer has opened up a live studio in Somerset House where you can watch a live stream of his photoshoots/various designers making one-off pieces/talk to models on the phone/watch castings etc...basically being able to view the inner workings of the fashion world.

So anyway, Nick Knight is shooting 100 portraits for I.D Magazine and the very talented Fred Butler is going to be in it...wearing one of MY all in ones. Woo hoo!

Fred wanted a holographic spectrumised version of my All in One PVC 0.1...and this is what I managed to sew together. I think I was channeling Grace Jones at the time.

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while...I've been organising/stressing over a shoot that me and Dan Wilton are doing on Friday for my new winter designs...

We're going to split the shoot up into about 4 different looks as some of the designs are really different to each other....

So on Friday, we're going to do some mid-air floating shots that will hopefully end up looking a bit like these:

Blue cotton jersey with silver vinyl writing, low crotch, one size fits all.

I also have one black/gold All in One with sleeves/hood for £15 (usually £45). It has a few small holes in the back hence the large reduction.

They're samples so the writing is slightly creased but they're still looking fresh.

I know these aren't onesies but I literally love everything about these images - the lighting, make-up, accessories..and of course, the clothes.

It really is something to be inspired by and work towards - I have trawled through hundreds of catwalk images over the last few weeks and have barely come away with a sense of anyone doing something different or moving forward.

I remember watching this sort of reality(ish) tv programme called 'The Fashion House' a good few years ago and Gareth Pugh was one of the 10 or so designers who had to live in this house in Milan and create pieces from the different briefs they were given each week. Those awful trashy designer twins, DSquared, were the judges one week and said that they thought Pugh's work was more costume based and that it would never work on the catwalk...and now Pugh has a much better reputation than they do! Ha!
